It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verla Jean Brown of Steelville, Missouri, born in Black, Missouri, who passed away on July 20, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Elmer Hedgcoth and Goldie Pearl Hedgcoth; her parents-in-law, Howard and Virginia Brown; her son Larry Eugene Fox; her siblings, James Robert Hedgcoth, Edna "Marie" Copeland (Colin), Jessie Crocker (Robert "Bob"), Willis Calvin Hedgcoth, Earl Eugene Hedgcoth and Marvin Hedgcoth; her siblings-in-law, Larry Holtz, Howard "Junior" Brown, Robert Brown and Glenda Hedgcoth; and her granddaughter Courtney Rochelle Brown.
She is survived by: her husband David Brown of Steelville, MO; her children, Jeffery Fox of Davisville, MO, Bret Brown (Georgie) of Davisville, MO and Jerry Fox of Ellington, MO; her siblings, Donald Hedgcoth of Bonne Terre, MO, Hershel Hedgcoth (Brenda) of East End, MO and Verna Catherine Holtz of Cuba, MO; her siblings-in-law, Jack Brown (Vicki) of Davisville, MO, Terry Brown of Davisville, MO, Betty Abney (Arnold) of Steelville, MO, Josephine Brown of Davisville, MO and Linda Snyder of Benton, MO; and her grandchildren, Ashley Russell (Jeremy), Ethan Fox, Ely Fox and Ira Fox. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
