We are sad to announce that on November 27, 2024, at the age of 61, James Thomas Ransom of Steelville, Missouri, born in Sullivan, Missouri passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father James Leroy Ransom; his father-in-law Johnny Simpson; and his son Benjamin Michael Ransom. He is survived by: his mother Elaine M. Ransom of Steelville, MO; his wife Sharon Ransom of Steelville, MO; his children, Donald James "DJ" Ransom (Whitney) of Rogers, AR and Megan Leigh Vanatta (Scott) of Rogers, AR; his stepdaughter Megan E. Friedmann (Brian) of Steelville, MO; his grandchildren, Brinkley Vanatta, Kaylie Vanatta, Jackson Ransom, Emma Grace Ransom, Chloe Beth Friedmann, Nikolai Friedmann, Charlotte Ransom and Cordelia Friedmann; his mother-in-law Elizabeth Simpson of Cuba, MO; his siblings, Jennifer Whitson of Steelville, MO, Julie Ransom of St. Clair, MO, Janice McMillen (Marty) of Steelville, MO and Joe Ransom of Steelville, MO; his sisters-in-law, Sheila Moehlenbrock (Chuck) of Sullivan, MO and Sandra Ware (Scot) of Cherryville, MO; and his close friend Ray Atchison of Steelville, MO. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hutson Funeral Home (601 Main St, Steelville, MO 65565). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Liberty Cemetery, Steelville Cemetery or Wesco Cemetery in JT's honor.
