With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Agnes Irene Sanders of Steelville, Missouri, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Patrick Whalen and Charlotte Eileen Whalen (Graham); her husband Bud Sanders; her siblings, Loretta Whalen, Earline Young (Roy), Ernest Whalen (Evelyn), Melba Offield (Dudley), Danny Whalen, Garrett Whalen (Charlotte), Raymond Whalen (Joan), Patrick Whalen, Sue Ross and Wendell Craig; her parents-in-law, William "Sam" and Iva Sanders; her sisters-in-law, Velita Presley (Russell) and Norena Smith (Willard); and her nephew Freddie Smith (Merna).
She is survived by: her children, Etta Mae Ruble (Gene) of Steelville, MO, Jerry Sanders (Claudette) of Cuba, MO, Patsy Schwent of Cuba, MO and Terry Sanders (Tina) of Wesco, MO; her grandchildren, Roy Ruble (Theresa) of Leasburg, MO, Tony Ruble of Vichy, MO, Cheri Livesay (Mike) of Steelville, MO, Brandy Halbert of Elgin, TX, Brandon Schwent of Cuba, MO, Matthew Sanders (Cindy) of Rolla, MO, Jeri Faber (Matthew) of St. James, MO, Elizabeth Brown (Charlie) of Salem, MO, Cheryl Turnbough (Jason) of Gainesville, MO and Craig Sanders (Crystal) of St. Clair, MO; and her siblings, Patricia Whalen of Santa Monica, CA, Ellen Craig of Madison, AL and Roger Whalen of Fowler, CO. She is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home (110 Cedar St, Steelville, MO 65565). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at the Steelville Cemetery (26 Church St, Steelville, MO 65565).
