Opal Lee Yarbrough Obituary
Opal Lee Yarbrough, 83, of Steele, Missouri passed away at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas on July 12, 2022. She was born on January 19, 1939 in Carthage, Mississippi to Woodrow Pigg and Marcelene Pigg. She was united in marriage to Forrest Paul Yarbrough on February 21, 1959 in New Orleans Louisiana. They were married for 57 years until Paul's passing in August of 2016. Opal was a member of the Holland Baptist Church in Holland, Missouri. She was a woman of God, an excellent cook, a motivator, and loved to cater to the needs of others. She enjoyed cooking, hosting others in her home, gardening, decorating for all seasons, journaling, and collecting pictures. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include; one daughter: Tammy Stallings (Tim) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two sons: Lynn Yarbrough of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Gregg Yarbrough (Laura) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; one brother: Ricky Kyle of Dallas, Texas; two sisters: Ann Ray of Meridian, Mississippi and Carolyn Kyle of Jackson, Mississippi; four grandchildren: Jenna Rowden (Josh), Connor Stallings, Heather Eubanks (Brad), Carson Yarbrough (Kylie); six great grandchildren: Hudson Rowden, Grant Rowden, Ellie Rowden, Katie Brooke Eubanks, Sarah Eubanks, Raelynn Yarbrough; many nieces and nephews; two sister-in-laws: Judy Smith and Cheryl Yarbrough; brother-in-law: John Yarbrough (Becky); and a host of other family and friends.
Opal is preceded in death by; her husband: Forrest Paul Yarbrough; her father: Woodrow Pigg; her mother: Marcelene Pigg Kyle; one sister: Betty Jean Verzwyvelt; two sisters-in-laws: Gloria Frederick (Paul) and Ginger Crews (Adron); two brothers-in-laws: Howard Smith and Ronnie Yarbrough.
Pallbearers: Connor Stallings, Carson Yarbrough, Josh Rowden, Brad Eubanks, Chris Copeland, and Kirk Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Holland Baptist Church in Holland, Missouri at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. John Dunavant and Dr. John Yarbrough officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Missouri under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
