He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Dale and Irene Ellis (Evans); his siblings, Earl Dale, Stephen Ellis, Peggy Smith and Carolyn Conover; his brothers-in-law, Vondale Smith and Marvin Conover; and his grandson Bryson Eldon Ellis.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Kay Morriss; his children, Kelly Weatherd (Martin), Jennifer Peak (David), Carrie Fanning (LeeRoy) and Max Ellis (Jodi); his siblings, Nancy Henderson (Everett) and Jerry Ellis (Glenda); and his sister-in-law Phyllis Ellis. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
