With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virgie J Litle (Springfield, Missouri), who passed away on February 9, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Virgil Caldwell; her former husbands, Arthur Carter and Harry Hankins; her daughter Rhonda Shaffer; her mother Gertrude Caldwell; and her sisters, Belva Beaty and Mona Caldwell.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Nathan Carter (Janelle), Ashley Blight (Jason) and Josh Shaffer (Shavon); her great grandchildren, Alexis, Kynadee, Mason Carter, Carter, Caleb, Cason, Carver Blight, Nadia, Vivian and Lilith; her husband Carl Litle of Nixa, MO; her son Randal Carter (Leah) of Nevada, MO; her siblings, Jim Caldwell (Judy) of Laramie, WY, Elvia Caldwell, Cecil Caldwell (Phylis) of Walker, MO, Trudy Caldwell and Virgil Caldwell (Jackie) of Walker, MO.; and her stepchildren, Stanley Hankins (Susan), Cindy Lagree (Bryon), Christy Stewart (Howard), Joe Hankins (Sarah), Kelley Litle (Dave Harris) and Robyn Litle. She is also survived by step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
She was actively involved in numerous organizations, including the Presbytery, Council of Churches of the Ozarks, Presbyterian Women, Meals on Wheels, the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield, the Women's Auxiliary, the Sertoma Club, the Regional Girls' Shelter, RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program), and the American Cancer Society.
