He was predeceased by: his brother Jeffery Thomas Stephens; his father James Thomas Stephens; his stepfather Kenneth Stovall; and his father-in-law W. E. Cooper. He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his son Tony; his mother Carolyn Stovall of Sulphur Springs; his sisters, Lisa Avery (Jim) and Michele McKinney (Jim); and also Emmy Decker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
