He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Willis Murdaugh and Ava Murdaugh (White); his parents-in-law, Richard and Ruby DeBerry; his wife Sharon Murdaugh (DeBerry); his siblings, Willis Lance Murdaugh, Jeanne Wright (John Wright) and Reta Scola; his brother-in-law Kent McDaniel; and his nieces, Sherri Lynn Murdaugh and Meagan Murdaugh.
He is survived by: his children, Randy (Sherri), Dea Leggett (Wes), Greg (Shelley) and Paul; his brother Steve Murdaugh (Dianne); and his siblings-in-law, Roberta Murdaugh, Joe Scola and Susan McDaniel. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
