He was predeceased by: his wife Bella Haynie; his stepdaughter Becky Arnett; and his brother James Haynie. He is survived by: his children, Richard Mark Haynie (Babette) of Queen Creek, AZ, Susan Haynie (Bill Kaufman) of Norwalk, IA and Mary Jackson (Mike) of Springfield, MO; his siblings, Ila Sutton of Mission, TX and William Haynie of Providence, RI; and his stepchildren, Ronald Wirtz (Karen) of Leawood, KS, Robert Wirtz (Fran) of Boulder, CO, Deborah Kirby (Steve) of St. George, KS, Thomas Wirtz (Korrinna Kientz) of Manhattan, KS and Patricia Wirtz (Doug Berke) of Mansfield, TX. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
