He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McCroskey and Elsie McCroskey (Bridges). He is survived by: his wife Kathy McCroskey; his son-in-law Allen Collins; his grandsons, Pete Richardson and Preston Richardson; and his nieces and nephews, Tommy McCroskey, Chase Coffman, Jordan Coffman, Asher Akins, Brody Akins and Braxton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Make A Wish Foundation in honor of Rex McCroskey.
