He was predeceased by: his parents, Fay Ezra Long and Alta Owens Long; his wife Martha Long; and his brother Max O. Long. He is survived by: his children, Marty Hopper (Larry) of Morrisville, MO and Loren "Skip" Lee Long, Jr. of Springfield, MO; his grandchildren, Amanda Douglas of Springfield, MO and Ashley Holtzman (Matt) of Cassville, MO; his great grandchildren, Dakota Douglas, Hallie Hughes, Chelsey Douglas, Hayden Holtzman and Harlyn Holtzman; and his sisters, Fay Phelps of Springfield, MO and Loretta Murray (Mark) of Springfield, MO..

Loren was extremely proud of the fact that he had personally donated 22 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross and had also read the Bible cover to cover 22 times.
