He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo Rhoades and Susie Strawbridge Rhoades; and his sister Wanda Hysmith. He is survived by: his granddaughter Cheryl; his wife Patsy Rhoades; his children, Stephen Rhoades (Laurie Rhoades) of Springfield, Missouri. and Cheryl Frye; his son-in-law Paul Frye of Dension, Texas.; his grandchildren, Brittney, Casey Jensen, Colleen, Christian Savoie, Makayla Frye, Jennifer, Jack Baker, Nathan, Anna Frye, Madelyn, Toby Robinson, Nicole Rhoades and Natalie Frye; his sister Linda Sprowls; and his brother-in-law Robert Sprowls (Melvin Hysmith).
