He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Kastanas and Marian Kastanas (Kontoleon); and his brother Deno Kastanas. He is survived by: his son John A. "Jak" Kastanas; his godson Zach Azari; his sister Christina Tsahiridis (Dimitri) of Branson; and also Katarina Vicencio. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

In John's memory, memorial gifts may be made to the family for the benefit of Jak Kastanas and Katarina Vicencio.
