With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jay Matthew Jackson in Springfield, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 12, 2024 at the age of 57. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Jay Matthew may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Jay Matthew touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his father John S. Jackson; and his brother Joel Douglas. He is survived by: his mother Rosemary Harrrell Jackson; his nieces, Alexis Marin (Ezekiel) and Sophia Nicole; his nephew Jackson Wray; his sister April (Paul); his sister-in-law Jennifer Jackson; and his friend Brian Bockman.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Springfield Springfield, MO (525 South Ave, Springfield, MO 65806). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials can be made in Jay's name to the Ozarks Lyric Opera as a contribution to the legacy he left on The Arts.
