It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Preston Akers of Springfield, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Kansas, who passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandfather Ed. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Akers (Laird); his daughters, Hillary Talburt (Akers) and Kendra McQuay (Akers); his children-in-law, Robert Talburt of Springfield and Taylor McQuay of Springfield; his grandchildren, Bayley Talburt, Keegan Talburt (Ruth), Sophie Talburt, Hayden Talburt, Cooper Talburt, Alex O'Hara, Jay DeMoure and Serenity McQuay; his mother Hazel; and his siblings, Cliff, Eric, Donna and Dawn. He is also survived by spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews.
