He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Richard and Ruby Syble Swearengin (Stapp); his wife Virgie; his son Michael Gene Mahan; and his brothers, Theo and Hubert.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Mahan, Greg Mahan (Kim), Tim Swearengin, Wayne Lewis and Pam Linnebur (Mark); his grandchildren, Chris, Crystal, Kevin, Mark, Nick, Scott and Timmy; his sister Jean Saddler (Tom); and his sister-in-law Pearl Swearengin. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
