He was predeceased by: his parents, Herb Rains and Lena Rains (Mitchell); his son Tom Rains; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Barr, Bill Barr, Beulah Lassley and Annie Parker.
He is survived by: his wife Louella Barr; his son Danny Rains (Anita); his daughter-in-law Sharon Rains; his grandchildren, Danny Jo Rains (Melissa), Chase Rains, Cody Rains (Megan) and Dustin Rains (Lyndzey); his great grandchildren, Kimber, Austin, Layne, Claire, Pistol, Punchy, Marshall, Sawyer, Jude, Farrah and Sam; his great great grandchild Aubrey; his brother Tony Rains (Tonya); and his siblings-in-law, Bill Lassley, Jan Barr and Janie Ussary. He is also survived by relatives and many friends.
