He was predeceased by: his father Raymond Schonewetter. He is survived by: his mother Lois Schonewetter (Slates); his children, Nathan Schonewetter (Mallory), Ashley Darr (Jeromy) and Sammi Schonewetter; his grandchildren, Dayton, Darian, Charley, Kynlee and Ivy; and his siblings, Alvin Schonewetter (Nancy), Gail Matthews (Robert), Connie Shackelford (P. A.), Lea Ann Moore and Brenda Estes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
