He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph W. Harris and Ora Leigh Yowell Harris; and his sisters, Eleanor Bell, Mildred Ann Franklin and Hart Vaughn.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred "Millie" Colson; and his children, Carolyn Thornton (Dan) of Miami, Stephen Harris (Joyce) of Sweet Springs, Jeffrey Harris (Sandra) of Slater and Darren Harris (Jane) of New Franklin. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
