He was predeceased by: his parents, Henrietta McClain Kirkwood and Robert Kirkwood, Sr.; his siblings, Roosevelt Willis, Richard Willis, Camia Simpson, Edna Kilgore and Corneice Presberry; his wife Joyce Marie Henry; and his son Raymond Lamont.

He is survived by: his children, Teresa Ann Pearson (Reginald) of Alton, Illinois, Robert III (Nicole) of Atlanta and Shawn Courtney (Yolanda) of Kansas City, Missouri; his grandchildren, MarKell, Harlym, Harper and Hariah Kirkwood; his stepgrandchildren, Kevin, Koty Jones, Latereka Pearson-White, Andria Randol, Helois Foster, Nikki Pearson, Cameo Holland (Kim) and Shaliece Pearson; his sisters, Liz King (Carl) of St. Louis and Maggie Lee Robinson (Leroy) of Springfield, Missouri; his in-laws, Barbara Stephenson (Carl), Shirley Williams of St. Louis, Ethel Powell (Charles), Odell (Marilyn) of Jefferson City, Carolyn Carter (Donnie) of Houston and Everlyn Rader (Howard) of Springfield, Missouri; and his sister-in-law Alice Henry. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
