He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Russell Sutherland, Jr. and Daisy Barfield Sutherland; his sister Sara Sutherland Story; his niece Mary Margaret Story Yarbrough; his uncles, Harold (Anne Sutherland), Harry (Marueen Sutherland), Buford (Catherine Sutherland) and Richard (Louise Sutherland); and his parents-in-law, William R. and Marian V. Kirchner Beaty.
He is survived by: his wife Tammy Carolyn Beaty; his nephew George Russell "Buck" Story; his great-nephew George Marshall Story; his great-niece Cary McClure Story; his niece Pamela Rounsley (Mark); his great-nephews, Steven and Allen; his great-niece Cassidy; his niece Carolyn Muller (Matt); his great-nephew Addison Fleming; his great-niece Abby Fleming; and his siblings-in-law, Ernest E. Story (Pete), Timothy and Sherry Beaty. He is also survived by numerous cousins and dear friends.
