She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Stanley Smith and Charlotte Smith (Spencer); her children, Schad "Dennis" of Urbandale and Cherity Gabrielle (John) of Kennesaw; her siblings, Stanley L. Smith (Barb) of Sanibel Island, Gayle Jordan (Larry) of Des Moines and Cheryl Jane Shanks (Randy) of Des Moines; her grandchildren, Megan, Jessica, Brandon, Sarah, Izzy and Joe; her stepgrandchild Charlotte; and her friend Melody Black. She was also cherished by her parents and two sisters.
