He was predeceased by: his parents, Leah Rebecca Phillips Thrasher of Virginia and Weldon Eugene Thrasher; his father-in-law Estel Gaines; and his siblings-in-law, Janette Cooper and Kenny Gaines.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Anne Gaines; his children, Christy Yost (Shane) of Philadelphia and Jeff Thrasher (Jennifer) of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Dillon Yost, Lauryn Thrasher, Jarron Yost and Brynnleigh Thrasher; his brother Jerry Thrasher (Linda) of Billings, Missouri; his mother-in-law Jane Gaines; and his siblings-in-law, Bobby Gaines (Linda), Jimmy Gaines (Phillis), Larry Cooper and Shirley Gaines. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended friends.
