She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Samuel Sr. and Pauline Hawkins (Jones); her former husband Howard D. Platz; her husband James "Jim" Palmer; her grandparents, Carrie Blackburn Hawkins, William Scott Hawkins, George Baylis and Bessie Jones; her nephew Samuel Hawkins III; and her brother-in-law Harold McNew.
She is survived by: her stepsons, Jerry Platz (Kathy) of Apalachin, NY, John Platz (Cindy) of Springfield, MO, Ronald Platz (Cathi) of Gilbert, AZ, Kyle Palmer (Cindy) of Warrensburg, MO, Kris Palmer (Martha) of Bethel, MO and Kirk Palmer (Rhonda) of Brookfield, MO; her grandchildren, David, Elizabeth, Sophia, Rebekah YaoYao, Tabitha, Travis, Caleb (Becca), Jenny (Nathan), Jordan (Courtney), Meghan (John), Ryan (Ceaira), Lydia and Adam; her great grandchildren, Adalynn, Avery, Reed, Ethan, Ava, Hudson, Ariana, Wesley, Eden, Isaiah, Pierson, Valerie and Maverick; her siblings, Sam Hawkins (Mary) of Shelbina, MO, Charlie Hawkins of Shelbina, MO and Sara McNew of Springfield, MO; her nephews, Jay Hawkins (Saralyn) and Scott McNew (Allison); her niece Sara Elizabeth Riley (Jason); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Emma, Matt, Lauren, Samuel and Jones.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Shelbina Cemetery or Heartland Recovery Centers.
