It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Denis Dion Balsar of Shelbina, Missouri, born in Norfolk, Virginia, who passed away on December 17, 2022, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Elzie and Wanda Lee Balsar (Brocksmith); and his brother-in-law Tom Waterkotte. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Jo Blackford; his children, Dustin Hercules of St. Charles, MO, Timothy (Josh Hercules) and Laci Hercules (Mitch Greenwell) of Columbia, MO; his grandson Xander Hercules of St. Charles, MO; and his siblings, Carolyn Waterkotte of Quincy, IL, Louise Goodwin of Engadine, Richard Lewis of Aurora, CO, Donna Lewis, Lisa Lewis, Leanne Turrentine and Melissa Vahlkamp of Quincy, IL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Neighbors Helping Neighbors or Helping Hand of Clarence.
