It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bill Gerding of Shelbina, Missouri, born in Quincy, Illinois, who passed away on October 27, 2022, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Gerding and Helen Gerding (Thien); his brother Chuck Gerding; his brothers-in-law, Mike Parks and Ron Martin; his nephews, Jimmy Wienhoff and Phillips Parks; and his granddaughters, Sydney Taylor and Haley Marie.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Louise Walker; his children, Richard Gerding (Kate) of Emerson, MO and Amy Rickerson of Shelbina, MO; his grandchildren, Matthew, Andy, William "Bubba", Thomas and Rusty; his siblings, Paul Gerding of Quincy, IL, Mary Wienhoff (Jim) of Quincy, IL, Theresa Martin of Quincy, IL, Lou Gibson (Porter) of Quincy, IL, Bob Gerding (Esther) of Quincy, IL, Lynn Parks of Clinton, MO and Danny Gerding (Karen) of Plainville, IL; and his sister-in-law Debbie Gerding of Quincy, IL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
