He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ness and Bonnie Van Ness (Looper); and his siblings, Jess, Bascomb, Vernon "Jack", Ben, Vincent, Rollins "Cotton" Van Ness and Lorene Philpott.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Bell Napier of Seymour; his daughter Vicki Wood (Dennis) of Seymour; his grandsons, David and Dustin Wood of Seymour; and his great grandchild Liam Wood. He is also survived by many sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, many other relatives, and friends.
