He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Conness and Ida Bell Conness (Lamar); his son Steve Conness; his stepson Brian Cox; and his daughter Dana Roller.
He is survived by: his close friend Pauline Conness; his sons, David Conness (Deanna) of Neosho and Donny Conness (Shea) of Carthage; and his stepchildren, Anita Massey of Joplin and Randy Stevens of Seneca. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren.
