He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Scannell and Lily Scannell (Wilmeth); and his brother Kelly Ayers. He is survived by: his wife Mary Scannell of Seligman; his children, Lynda Freeman (Eric) of Seligman, Michael Scannell (Leslie) of Seligman, Joseph Scannell (Beth) of Seligman and Howard Watkins (Jennifer) of San Antonio, Texas; his grandchildren, William Freeman, John Scannell, Jonathan Scannell, Savannah Vinson, Benjamin Vinson, Nathan Watkins, Christina Watkins, Allison Palmer and Johnathan Freeman; and his siblings, John Ayres of Rogers, Arkansas and Katherine Payne of Seligman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
