The memory of Melvin Dean Horton of Sedalia, Missouri, who passed away on November 18, 2024 at the age of 99, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie A. Horton and Ruth Adora Horton (Foster); his wife Erma "Maxine" Vowels; his daughter Deana Dale Spetter; and his brothers, Vernon, Robert, Dale, William and Wayne Horton.
He is survived by: his sons, T. Dean Horton (Linda) of Raleigh, NC and Larry Horton (Sharon) of Sedalia, MO; his son-in-law Jim Spetter of Berryton, KS; and his grandchildren, Terri, Lisa, Tiffany, Traci, Amy, Lori Ann and Troy. He is also survived by his family, friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the First Assembly of God Church in Topeka.
