He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Dixie Poundstone (Lively) and Jennings Poundstone; and his brother Donald Poundstone. He is survived by: his wife Louise Poundstone; his daughter Rhonda Mefford (Jerry); his grandchildren, Melissa Boyer, Bill, Jason Mefford, Karen, Brian Mefford and Heather; and his great grandchildren, Alexis, Alaina LeClaire, Wade, Quinton Boyer, Gwen, Emmett, Avery Mefford, Trent, James and Olivia Mefford. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
