With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Loyd Joe Simmons in Sedalia, Missouri, born in Ransom, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 2, 2024 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Simmons and Lillian Simmons; his son Chris Simmons; his grandson Chris Simmons; and his brothers, Howard, Earl, Marvin and Virgil Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Darrel Simmons (Diane), Ivan Simmons (Holly) and Pam Day (Bill); his grandchildren, Brian Simmons, Megan Leake (Cody), Richard Day (Joy), Arron Day (Tab), Corey Simmons (Tamara), Collin Simmons (Megan) and Cara Simmons (Erin); his great grandchildren, Ethan, Tyler, Jaedyn, Connor, Carter, Cole, Ryan, Camdyn, Zoey and James; and his great great grandchild Ember. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
