He is survived by: his son Alex Smith (Jenny) of Sedalia; his grandchildren, DJ, Olivia, Tessa and Jordan; his stepson Matt Wells (Breanna) of Sedalia; his stepgrandchildren, Brynnley, Brielle, Braelyn and Jackson Horn; his sister Dee Johnson (Rick) of Knob Noster; and his nephews, Kenny and Jeff Johnson.
