He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Dan and June Smith (Hurd); and his siblings, Dana Smith Buso and David D. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Patty; his son Charles Smith (Tammy); his grandson Joseph Smith (Brittany); his great grandchild Evynne Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Lynn Smith of Houstonia, Jerry Kirchhoff (Carolyn) of Sedalia and Phillip Kirchhoff (Linda) of Texas. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Parkinson's Foundation or American Cancer Society in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
