He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles James and Delia Ann Young Spies; and his son David Spies. He is survived by: his son Chris Spies (Jennifer) of Scott City; and his brother Richard Spies (Leeta) of Kansas City, Kansas. He is also survived by four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
