He was predeceased by: his parents, James McElroy and Minnie Sweet (Dean); and his sisters, Margaret Privett and Sharon Brown. He is survived by: his close friend Thresa Zimmerman of Scott City, Missouri; his children, Randy McElroy (Kim) of Advance, Mitchell McElroy of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Karen Carter of Irvington and Bobbie Joe McElroy; and his siblings, Cleo McElroy of Diehlstadt, Missouri, Shirley James and Shelia Baker. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: and ten great children.
