He was predeceased by: his parents, James Paul, Sr. and Bernice Brewer Pate; and his brothers, Charlie Pate and Billy Pate. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Kaye Bain; his daughter Bessie Henderson of Olive Branch, Illinois; his stepdaughter Amie Blanchard (Adam) of St. Charles, Missouri; and his sisters, Norma Webb (Mike) of Fancy Farm and Barbara Pinkley of St. Louis. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
