He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin and Mary (Kurtz); and his siblings, Roland and Marilyn Mitchell. He is survived by: his children, Jon Carson (Lynette), Cody Carson (Allison Lee), Debbie Brooke (Tom), Shelley Morales Merritt (Alfredo) and Brea Merritt; and his grandchildren, Abbie Cun (Shawn), BJ Ferguson (Emmie), Kurt Brooke (Jennifer), Chris Brooke, Hunter, Halle Carson and Alyka Zahnd. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
