He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Velmont Carter and Edith Ruth Carter (Schaeffer); his wife Diann Lynn Carter (Rainez); his granddaughter Brianna Lynn Carter; and his siblings, Alice Heavilin, Jack Carter, William Carter, Silas Carter, George Carter, Frank Carter, Patrick Carter, Mack Carter and Fay Reno Carter.
He is survived by: his son John B. Carter II (Heidi) of Marysville, WA; his grandchildren, Ashley Carter and John R Carter; and his girlfriend Wanda Justus. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
