With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cecil Harold Thornton Jr. of Savannah, Missouri, who passed away on February 9, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Thornton and Cecil Thornton Sr.; his mother-in-law Helen Hendrix; his wife Helen June Thornton; his daughter Patricia Patanaittikul; and his brother Daniel Thornton.
He is survived by: his children, James "Jim" Thornton (Keiko) and Marie Jensen (Arnold "Ozzy") of St. Joseph; his stepchildren, Penny Gastineau (Jack Blanton) of Hiawatha, KS and Gary Elder (Valerie Mackley); and his sisters, Margie Layman of Berryton, KS, Betty Bibb (Henry) and Nancy Hartman of Excelsior Springs, MO. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
