He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony John and Katherine Frances Long (Noll); his siblings, Eugene Long, Thelma Fessler and Genevieve Gladbach; his brothers-in-law, Andy Fessler, Hurbert Gladbach and Leo Maag; and his niece Laura Maag Pearman.
He is survived by: his sister Berniece "Dude" Maag of Salisbury. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
