He was predeceased by: his father Herman Gehrig. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Koester; his children, Amy Dawn Smedley (Joe) of Salisbury, MO and Kevin Gehrig (Stacia) of Republic, MO; his grandchildren, Caleb, Codey, Alyssa Smedley of Salisbury, MO, Be̒la and Beatrice Gehrig of Republic, MO; and his mother LaVirda "Pat" Gehrig (Towle) of Oxford, NE.
