Shaun Leonard Nivens Obituary
Shaun Leonard Nivens was born on September 13, 1982, in Salem, Missouri, to Mike and Terri. He was blessed with two children, Ethan and Terralynn, who were the light of his life. Shaun was a proud father and loved spending time making memories with them and supporting them in their school activities.
Shaun was engaged to his best friend/fiancé, Kim Kurtz, and together they loved to spend time with their family and friends. He was very family oriented. His love for his children, family, and fiancé was always most important to him.
Shaun was a hard worker and worked as an electrician until his health no longer allowed. He enjoyed fishing and boating, especially at the Lake of the Ozarks. He was a man of faith and baptized in the Current River by Matt Milligan. Shaun had a heart of gold and was always considerate of others. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Shaun departed this life on August 9, 2023, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of forty years. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his father: Michael Nivens and wife Marcia of Camdenton, MO; mother: Terri Bequette of Rolla, MO; children: Ethan and Terralynn Nivens of Camdenton, MO; fiancé: Kim Kurtz of Camdenton, MO; brother: Mike Nivens and wife Corrine of Salem, MO; step-brother: Don Faulkner and wife Aja of Springfield, MO; step-sister: Brandy Smith and husband Bryan of Lebanon, MO; grandmother: June Laramore; special aunt: Cassie May; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Preceding him in death, grandparents: Jewell Nivens and James and Lillian Bequette.
Shaun will be remembered for his contagious smile and great sense of humor. He will be forever missed.
Funeral Services for Shaun Leonard Nivens were held Monday, August 14, 2023, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Matt Milligan officiating. Song selections played were "I Can Only Imagine", "A Country Boy Can Survive", "Folsom Prison Blues", "There Was Jesus", and "City of New Orleans". Serving as Pallbearers were Michael Nivens Jr., Bryon Johns, Travis Faulkner, Scott Coleman, Bryan Smith, and Steve Lawhead. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
