We bid farewell to Irvin B Cooksey Sr. of Salem, Missouri, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 17, 2025 at the age of 97. Irvin touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Christopher Cooksey and Carrie Cooksey (Ferguson); his wife Miss Thela May Plank; and his siblings, Clarence, Lloyd, Ira, Floyd Cooksey, Virginia, Edna, Blanch, Velma and Berniece.
He is survived by: his children, June Kropp of St. Louis, MO, Marie Mehlings (David) of Rolla, MO and Irvin Cooksey Jr. of Sullivan, MO.; and his grandchildren, Edward, Perry, Susie, Anna, Edna and Sylvia. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the James & Gahr Mortuary - Salem (103 W Center St, Salem, MO 65560). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
