He was predeceased by: his daughter Linda Frederick. He is survived by: his wife Elaine R. Smith; his children, John Frederick, Heather Smith and Edward J. Smith, III; and his grandchildren, Blake Kuzmeski, Madison, Taylor Smith, Bailey Frederick and Lindsey Frederick-Broyles.
