He is survived by: his spouse Norma Mae Oberle Married (Okenfuss); his children, Cynthia O. Evens, John D. Oberle (Nancy Miller) and Patrick O. Oberle (Greg DiDomenico); his grandchildren, Thomas John Oberle and Sarah Evens Williams; his son-in-law Ric Evens; his siblings, Cornelius "Buddy" Oberle, Robert W. Oberle, Adele "Petsy" Jokerst, Virginia "Ginnie" Anderson and Stella Mae "Tede" Giesler; his father John J. Oberle Sr.; and also, Saint and Dear.
Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post 2210 In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Valle Schools Foundation.
