With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter Henry Schaefer (Saint Martins, Missouri), born in Jefferson City, Missouri, who passed away on January 14, 2019 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bernard and Joanna Anna "Jennie" Schaefer (Toebben); his son Thomas Louis Schaefer; his grandson Thomas Dean Schaefer; his siblings, Mary Catherine Otto, Joan Branson and Herbert V. Schaefer; and his stepsister Dorothy Richter.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Schaefer; his children, Michael Schaefer (Connie) of Wardsville, Joyce Wilson of Taos and Jane Patten (Terry) of Taos; his grandchildren, Julie Wilson, Christine Wilson, Derek Wilson, Brad Schaefer (Julie), Joseph Schaefer, Jessica Patten and Lauren Buechter (Keith); his great grandchildren, Madison Backes, Chance Hardin, Elizabeth Jackson, Porter Schaefer, Gavin Buechter and Henry Buechter; his brother Norbert Schaefer (Janet) of Osage City; and his brothers-in-law, Oscar Branson, Linn and Harry Otto.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
