Letorre Swinney wrote a sympathy message

“It is with great sadness to learn about the passing of one of my mentors as well as friend. As a student at Missouri Baptist Mr. Brown was instrumental in helping many of us from the inner cities along with us being from the SLPS school system. in 2001 I was honored to join him in the Missouri Baptist Hall Of Fame and in my speech I thanked him for being there for many of us during diificult times. I occasionally would run into him wether he was having breakfast or just a cup of coffee.”
