He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward F. McDermott and Sarah E. McDermott; his son Ryan McDermott; his stepson Alexander McKeever; his mother-in-law Marian McKeever; his brothers, Jerry McDermott (Francine) and Thomas McDermott (Patricia); and his siblings-in-law, Michael McKeever (Donna) and Christine McKeever.

He is survived by: his friends, Tim Morse, Jay Hayes and Denny Baker; his wife Lisa McDermott; his son Shane McDermott (Jasmine); his grandchildren, Shane, Jr., Mason and Jai; his former wife Patty McDermott; and his brother-in-law Edward McKeever (Rose). He is also survived by extended family and many, many friends.
