She was predeceased by: her parents, Nick Thavorides and Elizabeth Thavorides; and her brothers, James (Niki), Anthony (Faye) and George.

She is survived by: her husband Nick James Gakes; her daughters, Marian Gakes and Christine McMillan (Jim); her grandchildren, Alison McCarthy (Tim), Rachel Lafser (Garen), Nicolas Gakes and Katerine Geary (Joe); and her great grandchildren, Lennon, Levi McCarthy, Gwyn, Gabriel Lafser and Gracie Geary.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Kriegshauser Mortuary West Chapel (9450 Olive Blvd, Olivette, MO 63132). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
